Baptist distinctives are those things most surely believed among us. We hold them to be the doctrine of the Apostles and thus of the New Testament. We are not so foolish as to believe that the Baptists have a corner on the truth. We don't own the truth, God does: we are simply trying to follow the fundamentals of the Scriptures.

Many of these distinctives will be found among many churches, some will hold most of them, some only a few, some might may hold all of them, but it is in a Baptist church we believe and practice all of them. Well that is most Baptist churches hold all of them. Without any intent of being critical of any of our brethren in other churches, we simply believe that the Baptist church is the closest local church to the doctrine of the Apostles.

The apostolic churches are not called Baptist Church in the Scripture; but because of their distinctives they can be considered Baptist in belief and practice.
