Dr. Harry E. Carr was born in the hills of Southern Illinois and began his pastorate over fifty-five years ago among the country churches. In 1976, he founded Shalom Baptist Church. Dr. Carr holds degrees from Midwestern Baptist College (B.R.E. and D.D.) and Louisiana Baptist University (M.A. and Th.D., Ph.D.). He is on the Executive Board of Directors, Vice-president of Graduate Studies, Chairman of Correspondence Studies, Chairman of the Bible Department and a Bible Instructor at Midwestern Baptist College and Seminaries, Pontiac, Michigan. Dr.Carr is also an adjunct professor for Louisiana Baptist University. Dr. Carr has written many textbook materials and has nine published books entitled, This I Believe…, Paul, Ambassador for Christ, Romans, The Book of the Twelve, Between the Old and the New, Beyond the Cross, Just About… Angels,Grandpa's Stories, and When I Was Young. Several of Dr. Carr’s works are used as text or workbooks at Midwestern Baptist College and many other Christian Bible Institutes. |

Dr. David M. Carr is the Co-Pastor and Youth Pastor of Shalom Baptist Church, the Principal of Shalom Baptist School, and the President of Midwestern Baptist College. Dr. David Carr was ordained in 1984 and is the second half of an outstanding father and son team. He holds two master degrees – an honorary doctorate and an earned Th.D. He also assisted Dr. Carr in developing and illustrating the churches rotating four year Sunday School Program. |
